A fund this project mission

Moon missions take brains, and willpower, and usually the wealth of nations. Until now. Brains are still needed. And willpower. Not nations, though. For the first time in history a group of students with a dream, a hell of a lot of support from their school, and your help, will land a spacecraft on the Moon. Here are the high points:

A remarkable group of students at Penn State are serious contenders to become the 4th team ever to land a spaceship on the Moon. The other three teams are global superpowers.

Google and the XPRIZE Foundation have inspired this space race. The only university to enter is a leader in this race. It's mind-boggling.

Because of RocketHub an astonishing number of fans, space enthusiasts, kids, parents, and teachers have the opportunity to support the team and go with them in more than "spirit" to the Moon.

Some very serious math has been done to calculate just how long the Lunar Lion might last on the Moon. Since it will be engraved with or contain the names and messages of everyone who wants to help, the answer is important.

Our lander will stand post for tens of millions of years.

The launch date is set, the spacecraft design is complete, and at the moment, it looks like the Lunar Lion team might just win the Google Lunar XPRIZE by being the first non-government group ever to accomplish so technical a task. The next step in the race is to build and test the lander prototype. Oddly enough, the amount of funding needed to accomplish this is pretty darn close in dollars to the distance from the Earth to the Moon at its farthest point in kilometers. By joining our Mission Roster and contributing just 10 of those dollars, or 50, or 75, you'll be making a mark on history and the Lions will make sure you are recognized for it far beyond your lifetime.

And much more on the site itself.
