I recently said to hell with it and have my REAL age on my Streamate profile, which puts me in the "MILF" category (I am 40 years old as of a few weeks ago! Muaw haha.) and I have actually noticed a significant increase in my traffic. But I have no kids of my own (and don't plan on it, EVER) so I am not technically a "MILF".......I wonder what that makes me? Ha! I mean, my CharlieB has an 18 year old and a 10 year old, so I am a stepmother I suppose. But that is really not the same. I do have to admit that I almost feel a bit out of place in that respect...but then heck, I sure don't feel like a 40 year old lady! At least I don't feel like what I THOUGHT I would feel at 40....
Yeah I never would have picked you at 40, though I'm 39 at the end of this year so... Which brings me to my next point.
When I'm in various rooms - I've noticed particularly in CammiStar's because I think I'm about 1 year older than her, guys start tossing around the word MILF and before long I'm wondering: when the 'MILF' is your own age, is she still a MILF? Obviously her motherhood is not affected one way or another, but as Violet pointed out, the word appears not to be solely defined by motherhood but has also been conflated with the fairly timeless fantasy of an experienced but still attractive "older" woman (note the importance of the relativity of this term - to an 18 year old, 25 MIGHT be "mature") helping to "train" the young man. (Presumably for some women this kind of fantasy is mutual)
So back to Cammi's case - is she a MILF? Well I know she's a mother, but despite meeting a technical requirement, having a kid is hardly likely to be the precursor to sexual attraction. She's gorgeous, so she fits that category, but again given that she's younger than I, it would seem more than a little odd for someone of my age to be calling her a 'MILF' lol. So again, I guess it's relative to the age (and mindset) of the beholder.
So, milves are in the eye of the beholder... (and they need dick too, their husbands are away...click here now!) *ahem* sorry.
So I leave you with some questions:
1. Is the fact of motherhood a necessary precursor to a woman being labelled a 'milf'? And if so, why? Is it just a technicality or are we missing some fundamental dynamic (ie attraction to highschool friend's mom or something)
2. Is it just (most of the time) a synonym for 'mature'? If so then it is indeed a technicality whether or not she's a mother, arising from the term being used in American Pie to describe a schoolmate's mother - if it had been in another situation, another film, perhaps we'd have the term WILF (woman) or TILF (teacher) etc..
