On MFC when you're in a room the sort order of the list of people in the room was

1. The Model
2. Any other models in room
3. Friends
4. Premiums,
5. Basics
6. the lump of guests.

Within each of these groups people were sorted by date joined MFC.
Now within each group it seems random. Is it random, or is it something else like 'by order the person entered the room'

Ahhhh oooo-kay, sure.... :?

Personally I have the people list hidden just another visual distraction on the site...

It seems to me like it's in order of people who should be paid the most attention. :twocents-02cents:

And this is why I add myself to my friends list, so I'll appear up towards the top of the list and I can find myself. I hate not knowing If i'm in a room. ;)

I think he's asking about WITHIN these groups if there's any logical order.

We checked this one time in my room, models see the members within each group ordered by alphabetical order. It seems like for members though there's no order as all the different members in my room checked their lists and each was pretty much entirely different.

Previously, it depended which browser you were using. In one it would be alphabetical, in another by the date the members signed up, and in another by the time joined the room. I am not sure if any recent changes have made things different.

In our model web broadcaster we see alphabetical, with friends and other models and admins at the top.

Something did change a few weeks ago. In Chrome, the previous behavior was that within each group, members were sorted by sign up date (made it easy to look for old Basics). Now it's the same as Firefox, where members are sorted roughly by the time they entered the room. I say "roughly" because the order of members who entered the room before you isn't always correct.

The member list also gets updated more frequently now -- it's almost real-time. It can be dizzying watching members jump in and out of a room. (I'm told this has been the standard behavior from the models' side.)

yea, things have changed

as other have said before, it varied depending on your browswer.

I use comodo dragon, it used to be ordered on join date... now it's ordered depending on entry into the room (higher spot in list the longer you're in the room without leaving)

Reading the code it looks like, when you join a model's room, the sections will be sorted in whatever order it is sent by the server. Thereafter, new people will be added to the bottom of their section.

There is this comment in the code, and code to handle it:
Optional Methods:
MoveToTop(nUserId, sUsername ): Move premium members who have tipped to the top of the list. If sUsername is passed, nUserId will be ignored and the user id will be searched for by username.
But I don't see it being called anywhere in the client code. It's possibly used in the model broadcaster.

I have heard several models in the past say they are looking for a tippers username on the list. Strange that tippers are not moved to the top of a models list, seems like it would be good business sense to do so. Maybe it has changed, or will change soon.

I was always wondering, since they introduced that "friends at the top of the list" feature, if other people (other models disguised as guests) can see it in that order too? It makes me paranoid that they might snatch my regulars haha :D

I wouldn't worry too much about it, it seems better to focus on your shows and your visitors than having members poached! Besides, I'm of the opinion that real regulars can't be snatched. ;)

Yeah that but also no, your friends list does not appear to anyone but you. Members see the list of friends but from what I've been told they see their friends, not ours.
