I'm sure this must have been posted somewhere but my search only brought up some old threads so I'm gonna make a new one... apologies if there is a newer one I've missed!

So my laptop is kinda terrible for what I'm using it for. My old one basically bricked, I couldn't afford a brand new supercomputer and this was good enough at the time for its purpose (ie not much). But it's getting old now and I want something faster for camming/video editing/Photoshop/drawing/etc. So currently... I have a Packard Bell EasyNote TS45HR with an i3-2350M processor (yeah...) and 4GB RAM. I don't have a heck of a lot of money so I'm either going to have to save up for quite a while or just buy parts to upgrade what I have now, but I think if I were to upgrade the processor I'd have to get a whole new motherboard and then I don't know if I can be bothered to find out if everything else is compatible - at that point I'm basically building a new laptop, which I'd happily do, but then that's a different project. Having said that, building something from scratch is the third option, probably the one I'd find the most fun but not exactly the most reliable XD I haven't built a computer for many years lol, only altered them.

So essentially - does anyone have any laptop recommendations or know much about upgrading these newfangled post-2000 laptop contraptions? I'm not a fan of Macs or Windows 8 (running 64bit Windows 7 at the moment, though I might have to just get with the times on that one) and bonus points if I can get the casing in pastel colours =p also I'm in the UK for ref
