instagram suggested my "porn account" to a real life friend

Last week I've created an instagram account with my sex work to help reaching a bigger audience... Added some non-nudity pics of me and my links to other social medias

Then just woke up to a message of a really good friend asking me "hey man, is this you?" Shit... I tell my friends that I do online porn but would not like them to know my links etc. Gonna need to change everything now. And who else did Instagram show this acct? My acquaintances? My grandma?

Anyway, it's not like this is going to ruin my life but I just thought I should share so that noone else goes through this

take your personal facebook and instagram off your phone. they like to sync accounts together and reccomend similar accounts w/ cookies or ip or whatever. facebook is the devil.

i recommend deleting your private instagram, or lock that shit down.

I would go so far as to have completely separate devices for each account. If you're selling phone number or messaging app such as WhatsApp, etc use a number with a device that's completely separate from your personal number. This way, no chance of the app reading your contact list as making these suggestion. Granted, it's another expense. But, IMO, personal privacy is worth the added cost of having completely separate devices. I remember this being the topic of numerous other threads.

Even if you only USED to have Facebook on your phone you are fucked. I had to lose a 50,000 followers Instagram because of this. I factory reset an old iPhone and use it on WiFi only for instagram now.

I've found that even if you don't have the apps on your phone, facebook tends to pull in everything you are registered for, even if you use a different email if you have similar pics. I gave up completely on having a personal instagram or facebook.

I've either deleted or made completely private any personal apps. It sucks but seems to be the only way to avoid them advertising my porn things to people I don't want.
