Thankfully the lines between "pro" and "am" have become so blurred that new categories have been made up. The shtick that was formerly mainstream pro porn is now a niche called "hardcore." Since everyone else is an "amateur" that has been subdivided by situation, appearance, etc, and the real amateur stuff is now called "homemade."

So these days, the actual amateur stuff is generally inferior across the board, because there is now professionally-produced work with high production values that doesn't suck. Girls from outside the Valley, who don't vocalize exaggeratedly with every thrust, who don't necessarily look spray-tanned, boob-jobbed, and mall-haired, who might just happen to be fucking someone they have a deeper relationship with than the cable guy.

Exactly. When the X-Art site was just starting, most of the videos had music from beginning to end. As a member, I wrote to complain about that and actually heard back from the fellow making the videos and he seemed receptive. Nowadays, they have a little intro and outro music, but the rest is the performers.

I've not watched BG couples since I pretty much stick to MFC. The thing is also that couples on cam sites aren't usually just people who happen to be together to perform like you see in porn. They're usually a pair of SOs, and watching them together seems intrusive. When I'm watching two people, there has to be some minimal sort of seduction story and progression for it to be appealing to me, and there's nothing like that with cam shows. It's the same reason I don't go for gonzo porn.

BG cam shows are lame to me. I hate the entire negotiation process. I hate seeing some dude there with the girl-- I hate GG be it standard porn or web cam. I think couples shows could be more appealing than professional porn in a few ways. I think @Guy was meaning to compare and contrast them a bit? There are a few couples on Streamate that are cute as heck to watch counting down to their Goldshows. I don't watch shows, but I can see how watching a real couple whose energy you like would be sexy in a way that might be missing in directed porn. And it's live, so live bloopers. It seems like there are a lot of ways that couples shows could go wrong and be humorous.
