I don't want to flat out say cam model.. i have no idea what to put. I get my payments from chaturbate, and it shows on my bank statements as Zmedianow where a quick google search shows the main affiliate as chaturbate.
My rental application requests my occupation and employer/business name.
I want something that seems legit and that wont make them want to ask questions, but if they do i want to be able to tell them something that wont look so bad when they might search Zmedianow and see chaturbate :'(

what do you all usually put?

edit: I really want this place

I'm really thinking of lieing and putting down 'server' of a small restuarant... and putting a friends name down on the application

They also always ask for some sort of proof of payment though, either pay stubs, direct deposits, 1099s, etc. Obscuring where you receive your payments will raise more red flags than just leaving it.
Just put something like affiliate marketing, self employed.
I have rented 4 different apartments in my time camming and have never once had an issue. They care less about what you actually do and more that you have the ability to pay rent on time.

I'd put something relatively vague like "model" or something and just put Zmedianow as your employer. Chances are they won't look it up. I used to work at a headshop and pretty much everytime I applied for a rental place (or even told most people who weren't stoners) no one knew what it was. If anything they'll be like "Oh, what's this" when you talk to them and then you can just be vague again if you need to be. I wouldn't worry about it a whole lot.

Thanks ! i feel chilled out now. I am going to put model, and since i'm not like, model material, If they ask me to elaborate I will say lingerie model. Since I think that seems less risque than saying cam-model. and is not a full on lie for if they do choose to search Zmedianow.

I've always said self-employed / affiliate marketing whenever I've had to apply for anything (apartment, credit cards, whatever). For most rentals, a print-out showing your bank deposits will be enough, along with a positive credit check. I've rented from a few places that were really strict and still did fine as long as I could show my bank deposits, provide positive references, and pass a credit check.

I always go with self employment. They usually want 3-6 months of bank statements to prove your earnings and that's about it. Most renters in this day and age understand that some people work for themselves. An example an estate agent I had gave me once was a woman who made her income through ebay, so obviously her income was all pretty scattered. So long as you organise it and can prove you earn so much then it shouldn't be a problem. I wouldn't bother with anything about employers or lies. Stick closest to the truth, you work online, choose something maybe marketing or administration based, you could even say something like web design or social media marketing. Literally so many area's to choose from. Pick something you know stuff about that has similarities to camming and then use that as your basic "lie" for anyone you don't want to tell about your job. For example you might say you do customer service or sales over the phone, which is similar to camming in the sense that you have to always speak to people and be perky. The best lies hold truth within them.

Personally I would not say lingerie model as a regular model does not get a consistent income. Whenever I've had to lie about what I do I say I work remotely for a company. If I was you I'd say I work remotely for a company called zmedianow, I'd say I work in affiliate marketing or admin. Your bank statements will confirm it. They're unlikely to google the company and if they do the very worst that will happen is they may suspect you're a cam model, but it's not like they'll know your username or ever see you online (I assume you have your local area blocked), that way you have not told a verifiable lie and one letting agent having suspicions about you being a cam model is not grounds to deny you the apartment, as long as your income meets their criteria.

Edit: Also saying that you're a lingerie model is faaaar more likely to make them google you, if it's a male I guarantee they will. If they don't find anything it may not stop you getting the place but I certainly wouldn't want someone poking my name around online. Also they might ask what magazines you modeled for or where your pics were published. Getting caught in a web of lies can be very awkward.

Thank you all!! To my surprise, Zmedianow did not show up on my bankstatement when i ordered one, instead just 'immediate load fee' comes up
The only sketchy thing is is that it's in USD and I am in australia... I put down affiliate marketing, hopefully they dont ask questions!
If they do I will just say I run a few social media accounts and review and sell items through there! I don't like to lie but I do like living in a house

I think just saying something vague about social media/marketing will work well enough. Bring bank statements and offer a credit cheque and first/last month's rent. Have lots of good references!
If they want to know more say that you do online marketing for a modelling agency based out-of-state. Tell them that you do social media presence and customer service for this modelling agency (If you think they will be suspicious when you say you're a model)! Hell, you could even say that it's an adult modelling agency if you get good vibes from the person - just tell them you work behind the scenes on social media, manage their twitter, whatever. If they ask questions. :p

Good luck, I hope you get the place! Don't forget to get renter's insurance!

In my experience the best way to honestly give your employment details without directly saying "cam model" is saying "live-streamer" instead. Most everyone knows what twitch and youtube are and most, in my experience, make the assumption that is what you mean. "Self-employed" is risky in getting approval unless you make 3x-4x more on average than what your rent is, give them the name of what your paychecks say (not the site name) as your employer.

Lying can come back and bite you in the ass HARD. It's better to be honest.

im from south africa and when i was a stripper id always put in self employed, as long as they see u have money and can pay they dont normally mind

I told my rental managers that I amself-employedd... they asked doing what. so I said as an independent contractor on the internet, they asked me to explain... I said internet model.... they laughed....
