So I just purchased a Brand new chrome laptop and I found out my logitech webcam isnt compatible. I was wondering if any of you guys have encountered this problem. I just need help finding a way to get a webcam to work with this thing because in my opinion its not the best quality for webcamming :( so heres my questions....

-Are there any webcams compatible with chrome OS ?
-Are there any webcams that you dont need to download software or drivers for?
-Any suggestions at all ?

I have a macbook and I had to install BootCamp which allows you to use windows. My logitech works fine on it. Not sure about chromebook but could help if you are able to download the program

There are threads on chromebook support forums taht say some logitech webcams such as the c920 work fine with the built in apps but not sure how they would work with the web broadcaster. I know in the MFC web broadcaster wiki the specifically say don't use Chromebooks.

Chromebooks aren't really actual laptops. They really are only meant to browse the web and run a few Google apps.

I know that isn't really helpful information, but you may be hoping to get performance out of that machine that it wasn't meant to do.

If when you plug it in it does not work you are pretty much SOL from what I have read. The only cam that I have seen work is the Logitech C920 and that was with an Acer/Asus (can't remember which) Chromebook and the cam quality was low bandwidth at best.

-Are there any webcams compatible with chrome OS? There is no official list it's all hit and miss
-Are there any webcams that you dont need to download software or drivers for? Probably not for Chrome OS they would need to be installed by default
-Any suggestions at all? If you are not technical return it and get a Windows based laptop, your best bet
