So, I'm reading a thread about women and height.

The popular opinion is that women want a man that's 6 feet tall (or more).

Women of ACF...what are your height requirements? How tall are you? How tall is the tallest guy you dated, and how short is the shortest guy you dated?

I am 5'6" and a half! I personally like guys who are bigger (as in, taller and/or are buff or chubby or fat) so they can make me feel small. So I like a guy who's a couple inches taller, ideally, which for me is 5'9" or so. But it is far from a requirement and the magical 6' isn't important to me.

Shortest guy I've dated was about 5'7", tallest is 6'5".

Related, my best friend is 5'1" and generally dates guys who are 5'6"-5'9" because they're still tall to her. She used to date a guy who was 6'4" and said it was impractical so she seeks out guys who are shorter.

I'm 4'11.

The tallest I've dated was like 6'5 and that was a bit difficult and made me feel like a circus act.
It just felt physically awkward being with someone that tall.
My current partner is 6'0 and it's been perfect.
Shortest guy I dated was around 5'5.
I don't really have a requirement.

I'm 5'9 and i find that a lot of guys are bothered when i am taller than them, but i don't really care tbh.
I dated everything from shorter to a lot taller than me, the only thing annoying is bending down to kiss someone imo haha.

I'm 5'11. Tallest guy was about 6'3, smallest 5'7. No requirements, but i do agree with GenXoxo: I like guys who can make me feel small. My boyfriend isn't taller than me, but he had me the moment he carried me from the car into the apartment as if I were a fucking (drunk) disney princess.

I am 5'10 and I only date tall guys. I will date guys from 6'1 to 7'3. The shortest guy was my ex-partner at 6'1. The tallest was 6'9. It felt great to be dwarfed by a man in height. :cat:My dad is 6'4, grandfathers were 6'2 and 6'11, and my dad's grandfather was 7'1. So, I guess my taste in men runs the same as my mother and grandmothers':cigar:. I did kiss a guy who was 5'11 if that counts as very short.

I am 5'6. Shortest was 5'8, tallest was 6'3, and my partner is 5'10. I honestly couldn't care less about height, though I do like stockier, muscley guys. Not ripped, because cuddling ripped dudes isn't much fun, but sturdy.

For me there are WAYYY more important factors than height when it comes to dating a guy. I have dated pretty tall guys though but I have no preference. I'm 5'3 so most people are taller than me. My boyfriend now is 6 feet, shortest guy I've dated was 5'11 and tallest was 6'1.

I'm 5'4", the shortest guy I've dated was my height, and the tallest was just shy of 6'7". Height doesn't matter to me at all- the fact that I've only dated my height and above just happened to be a coincidence.

If anything, having a really strict height requirement would feel a bit demanding of me. I remember going out with a guy friend (strictly platonic) who at the time hadn't hit his growth spurt, and at 17 or so we had to go on kids carnival rides because he wasn't tall enough to ride the rollercoasters- he was crushed. Now imagine if after all of that had we been interested in something romantic and I had been like "nope, you don't fit the requirement". I feel like that would be even more soul-crushing. So I steer clear of that sort of rigid standard

I'm 5'9. I really don't have much preference when it comes to height and partners, the guy I'm with right now is 5'4. As someone said above though, my height tends to make shorter guys insecure so I usually end up with taller dudes.
The tallest I've dated was 6'2, shortest was around 5'2.

I am five feet tall. I bet I could get to five feet and half an inch if I stood reeeeallly straight.

I shagged someone of my height. Tallest was ... six feet ten inches.

I have no height preference. I feel like telling dudes they're too short a lot of the time is a nicer way of saying "I don't actually like who you are, so I will make you feel like it isn't your fault. but it is. shortie."

I'm 5'2". I prefer my men to be like 5'10 or taller. There is something about having to be on your tip toes to kiss someone. Also, I really like to be held and fucked.
I did once date a man who was 5'4" and he was alright. I couldn't wear heels though because of his insecure ass. That relationship didn't last longer than three months.

I'm 5'10" and I don't particularly care about the height of my partner. It's definitely the guys who are the most concerned. Tallest has been 6'4" and shortest around 5'6".

I *will* say that if I was going to create a guy from scratch I'd probably make him somewhere between 6'4" and 6'7", but I've never had any sort of height criteria that I evaluate when I'm picking someone out. Height will neither gain or lose them any points.

I do absolutely notice, though, when people are more than a couple of inches taller than me, just because most people aren't. I'm already the same height as the average man, and then on top of that I'm frequently wearing 3-4" heels. And when I see a woman walking around who is noticeably taller than me... can't stop staring.

I'm 5 foot and I've dated guys who are average height, around 5ft 8-5ft 10. Honestly I don't think height matters, just as long as they're taller than me, which is not hard!

No height requirements for me but that's mostly because they'd be a little hypocritical. I'm 4'9" (about 1.4 meters) and therefore couldn't really call most people short even if I wanted to. Never met a man shorter than me but wouldn't stop me if sexual attraction were there. That said though... I can only really be attracted to men if they're as nerdy and goofy as I am; their looks are secondary to personality and mind.

I'm 6 ft tall and every guy I've ever dated has been shorter than me. I once dated a guy who was a foot shorter than me. Maybe its because there never were many men taller than me but It never bothered me and I never even noticed most of the time. Height was definitely never something that would make or break whether I would date someone. Though, the other way around I've had MANY men be very put off by the fact that I was so tall and say that they couldn't date me because it made them feel not like a man -_-

To answer my own thread.....

I'm about 5'4" (maybe 5'5"?) been married to a woman my height for about 20 years, I hear short guys (my height) complaining that women only want guys 5'10" or taller and makes me SOOOOO happy I lucked out ;)

Shortest girl I dated was 5'0", tallest was 6'1" .

She said to me "oh, I can't wear heels" and I laughed "You already tower me...if it doesn't bother you, it doesn't bother me."

From a 5'3" guy's perspective, I'll never fit the masculine ideal. I'll never be the big man bear protector, more like the irritable yet affectionate house cat. I've only dated roughly my height or taller. Sometimes I wonder how it would be like to be the taller one in a couple.

One of the most flattering things I've been told in recent memory was by a six foot something former runway model who said she'd let me climb her tree if she weren't already married. I kind of like the idea of being with someone much taller than me. It would make me feel comforted and secure, I think. All snuggly like.

Short around 5'3" tallest I've dated was 6'5 shortest around 5'5". Height has never really bothered me, but the guy who was 6'5", like Carmita said...it was a bit on the awkward side.

I'm leaning more towards the gay end of the sexuality spectrum these days, but back when I was doing dudes all the time, height wasn't much of a concern. But, I'm 5'4" (well, technically more like 5'3.5", but I round up), so most dudes are at least a couple inches taller than me. My husband claimed that he was 6'0", but I was a hair taller than him when I wore my 6" heels, so... That math don't add up.

With ladies, I love all heights - petite, adorable ladies, tall Amazon goddesses, everybody in between... Just bury me in ladies.

I'm 5'9"

I find it awkward if a guy is shorter than me, so I haven't dated a guy that was shorter than me. The tallest that I've dated was probably 6'3", but most guys that I've dated happened to be right around my height or an inch or two taller.

I am 5'4" and I don't have a height requirement. I have noticed a pattern with the men I date. They are either 5'9" or 6'2". The tallest I dated was 6'7" and shortest was 5'6". I do wish I was taller like 5'11" because i am the shortest in my family. All the women are at least 5'9" and the men in my family are around 6'3". I grew up amongst trees lol

This is a topic that makes me so sad/angry! I think the idea that men have to be taller than a woman (hence probably stronger than her), is an antiquated patriarchal cliché that's brainwashed into us through popular media, socitial "norms", etc. Even for getting mundane low wage jobs, I've seen co-workers/employers prefer taller men to shorter ones! (Again, thinking taller = more manly & stonger, when that's often not the case)
I'm 5'9" and I've dated men both taller and shorter than me. When I first dated a shorter guy, I internally wrestled with and eventually overcame my preconceived notions about taller men being somehow "more appropriate" partners. Shorter guys deal with height-related abuse throughout their lives, and most non-short people are oblivious to it. :(
