I was reading a post about holidays reducing the income and looked for any posts or discussions on financial planning for future on this forum but didn't find any.
Given the nature of income (unsteady and irregular), risks associated (especially regulatory), and dependency on external agents, thinking a bit ahead and planing for future makes a lot of sense. For people earning from this profession as a major or only source this should be imperative.
So starting a thread for knowledgeable to contribute and rest to imbibe.
For this post, instead of having to go through every comment to find useful info, a thread summary with links and resources etc.will be pretty useful. I can prepare that based on popularity of advice, weeding out jokes and puns...
P.S. - I'm myself really really bad at managing personal finances, and have been learning it's pitfalls. Also, I have a background in Finance and investing so it struck me as odd. No other ulterior motive.
