I heard about this the other day. Although I was under the impression is was an Evil Dead remake (which is what I thought Evil Dead 2 was?). Either way, fuck yeah. And Bruce has Twitter now? Must. Find.

My understanding was Evil Dead 1 was being remade with no Bruce (younger cast...)(or maybe Bruce in a cameo? not sure), AND they were talking about an ED4 with Bruce. But neither of those articles seems to clarify much.

And I still haven't watched ED1.. I generally hate 'pure' horror movies, but ED2 and AoD were entertaining, but... I dunno. Not even that I'm scared of em. I'll watch zombie movies with no problem. Well, ok, Dead Alive was iffy, just because of the gore, but it was hilarious, so...

Necro-ing this thread to mention that the ED remake trailer is out:

It's safe to say, I am looking forward to seeing this.

Hmm....it looks like the tree is back....even though I saw an interview with Raimi where he said he regretted that scene and it was the decision of a 19 year old....

Though, when I saw the cabin...I immediately thought of 'The Cabin in the Woods'.

OMFGASHCWYAZQ!!
I have no idea what all those letters mean but wow Evil Dead 2 was perhaps one of the greatest movies of all time. Can't wait for part 4!

I don't know what I was expecting, but that trailer...I couldn't even watch it all. This might be the first movie in decades where I'll have to watch it through my fingers. I'M SO EXCITED!

Just got back from seeing the remake and holy shit, what a bloodbath! If you’re a fan of the original trilogy whatsoever, you owe it to yourself to see it. Especially in a theater.

Nice too see blood and guts and swearing in a horror movie again as well. Fuck all this PG-13 rated “horror’ bullshit that's being churned out by Hollywood.

I will believe it when I am in the theater or am holding the dvd/blu ray in my hand. I hope it picks up after the director's cut of Army of Darkness. That would be awesome.

SPOILERS!

Anyone else see this yet? I was kind of disappointed. It had some great gore scenes but the demon (I mean the actual spirit, not the zombie...) had none of the personality that it used to have. It didn't mock them really... It seemed like more of a straight-up zombie movie, not "Evil Dead". And I thought that her heroine addiction, while interesting, wasn't really played off in a way that made it believable that THAT was the reason they wouldn't leave, despite all the dead animals in the basement. I thought Evil Dead the Musical was better.

That said, I did love both of the hand removal scenes.

Army of Darkness 2 AKA Evil Dead 4 is in the works! Confirmed by Bruce Campbell. Full story here.

While A.O.D was an entertaining movie, IMO It was the weakest entry in the "Evil Dead" franchise. I'm hoping this time it leans more towards horror than comedy/fantasy.

STARZ greenlight's "Evil Dead" tv series.

With Bruce Campbell staring, Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert involved. This has potential to be fucking awesome. I just hope the show leans more towards horror than horror-comedy.

I am super curious to see how this will play out. And really, with Evil Dead, can you full escape the horror-comedy vibe? By Army of Darkness Raimi had full caved, thrown up his hands & said "Fuck it".
