From tijuana bibles in the 20's - to Playboy comics - to the popularity of pornographic "Archie" parody, "Cherry" in the 80's- to modern erotic comics and magazines ( the adult sci-fi/fantasy magazine Heavy Metal and popular webcomic paysites like Slipshine) - to Japanese hentai & doujin! ... let's just admit that erotic comics are so fucking cool ~ ♥

I'm a huge fan of the newest generation of erotic comics! There are tons of amazing, sexy comics being produced with fresh art, stories, and heart right nowww. ;) For example, the popular adult comic anthology "Smut Peddler's" 2014 edition just raised $100k in 20 days!!! Pretty impressive for a KS comic project, and one about sex at that! (Not to mention, it's all female creators... so fucking awesome! :3)

So tell me, you guys must be keen on some of this stuff, right?! What are your favorites? I'll list some of my current favorites below ~

I used to love the very incorrect French and Italian comics from 70s and 80s. Metal Hurant and Necron being two favourites.

Freda was singlehandedly responsible for my fondness for short hair, shaved pussies and general depravity.

Now you've got me going through old Heavy Metal issues looking for great French/Italian comics. :shifty:

Moebius was in a bunch of these issues too; HM is where I actually began to discover his amazing work!
I love "Little Ego," a parody comic of "Little Nemo in Slumberland" by Italian artist Vittorio Giardino.
and omg can't forget about Barbarella by Jean-Claude Forest ~ classic! :)

I'll keep an eye out for other cool European comics in these issues!!

Little Ego was always a giggle. Necron was apparently written by a woman, but later credit was given to Mangus. Circus was another French Magazine much like Heavy Metal. Full of strange stories and art by the likes of Milo Manara.

Yaaaaas, guys, how could I forget Oglaf?! It's so good. So so so good. (Anyone read Trudy's previous comic "Platinum Grit?" Not rly an erotic comic per se, but did have some sexy girl self-love scenes~)

Along the same lines of erotic humor, anyone remember Sexy Losers? One of my old favorites, I've read through the archives multiple times... always good for a laugh. (Off topic: the artist actually works on a really neat comic on tumblr now about dealing with depression and mental illness... it's pretty fantastic, although a LOT different from anything we're posting here haha - link)

@adorkabelle ~ love all the comics you mentioned! Tea House is so pretty, I'm so jealous of the art. Oh and I forgot: Doctor Voluptua is another great Josh L. erotic comic. Pray one day he continues it. :3

Yes! I followed Sexy Losers from back when the artist still called himself "Hard." I was bitterly sad when he abandoned the funny SL strips and moved on to Depression...which apparently is a personal problem he suffers. I just can't get into it, plus I don't like the layout(s).

Cherry is just such good, sexy fun! The Archie-esque artwork is so cute imo!! Slipshine runs classic Cherry issues; there are a bunch of back issues on the site. I'd love to be able to read through them all one day! (Someone buy me a Slipshine membership, haha! :p)

Oh my gosh, thank you for introducing me to Teahouse! I'm not usually into yaoi stories, but this just looks way too good to pass up. I'm obviously biased, but I love storylines that involve safe, fun sex work.. ;D

I miss Sexy Losers...And I LOVE Oglaf! One sexy comic I read is Menage a 3.http://www.ma3comic.com/cast.html.

I like this manga I read a long time ago about pansexual fairies. o_o It was always kind of hot. Any well written hentai is super fun. I use fakku.net for most of my hentai.

I used to collect the Verotik comics of the 90's, Most were Written by Glenn Danzig and illustrated by some of the great cheesecake fantasy artists like Frank Frazetta and Steve Bisley.

They may have been a bit more hardcore than erotic but they were certainly a work of art. I still have a few of them floating around still in their plastic :drool:

Humanoids Publishing is going to be republishing Barbarella in September. Humanoids is home to all sorts of European sexiness.

I'd mentioned this a while back in the hentai thread that I am a pretty big fan of sexy comics, especially the European erotic masters. My two favorites are Alfonso Azpiri and Paolo Eleuteri Serpieri. The thing I like about European sexy comics is that, generally, the story is worth the time to read, as well. Take Serpieri's Druuna, for instance (Morbius Gravis I is the first volume in the series.) It holds its own against any psychedelic sci-fi or body horror comics out there, without qualification. And Azpiri writes legitimately good adventure stories.

But, you know, a lot of writhing naked bodies means that, at least in the U.S., a work is disqualified from being considered serious. Granted, a lot of this does feature full depictions of penetrative sex, but we live in a world which thrills at dismemberment and buckets of blood; I refuse to pretend that tits and cocks are somehow more shocking. It's just a damned shame that sex isn't used more often as a legitimate narrative device, especially in comics, which make it a habit to wallow in repressed eroticism. Just look at any superhero book: tight costumes and bulges as far as the eye can see, and lots of punching and explosions. Just put it out there! Let them poor superheroes fuck, and relieve some of that stress!

But I digress...

A few others books I like:

One of my favorites comes from Bill Willingham, pre-Fables, a project he'd created in the 90s, called Ironwood. Aside from all the orgy scenes, it's actually a pretty fun read, especially for anyone who might be a fan of Fables. There's a lot of cool proto-Fables stuff going on, and the main character, Dragovan, reminds me a lot of Jack of Tales.

While I'm not particularly into a lot of fetish stuff, I have to say that Michael Manning's work makes it look pretty damned appealing. His Spider Garden books play heavily with some deep and often dark stuff like fluid sexuality, anthropomorphism, dominance and submission, and extreme bondage, and they are just visually amazing. It's too bad that they seem to be out of print, and hard to find online.

I could go on and on. I always toy with the idea of making a sexy comic of my own. I think it would be fun.

Didn't get a chance to fully read through this thread but will go back for educational purposes. I have been very interested over the past several years in applying my artistic talent to some format of graphic novel or adult themed production but have never had any other parties (writers, fellow artists, etc) interested in joining the venture. Could be a fun and potentially profitable venture!

If anyone has any interest in linking up and getting something started, feel free to let me know!

In the meantime, I'm gonna have to do my homework on the topic and check some of these links out!

I think he's talking about ClintonS. We've seen people who do this before, they come in and put super short replies (usually things like "nice tits" or "I agree" or other stuff like that) in a ton of threads only to put spammy links in their signature later, so it shows up in all of the posts they posted on. I don't know, it seems absurdly stupid. I remember being really confused the first time this happened and we even made several posts begging the person to stop posting. :lol: Hooray for community learning experience! This guy has NOTHING on MisterL though. :snooty:
