Usually somewhere between flippant and glib.
This is why I prefer to feed my dog human grade foods as snacks.

My local places all sell a few meat based snacks that have the ingredients listed on the back, and they're all human grade.

Another thing to do is to just use human foods

Mine goes NUTS for carrots.

I also want to note, that lots of people make chicken and rice for dogs that have issues eating.
Its actually pretty easy, but it costs more.

Ditto that. Frozen carrots are the bomb, can get a big bag of baby carrots for less than a dollar and they last my beasts about 2 weeks. Plus it makes their breath smell better and helps clean their teeth.

For treats we either make our own or use Wellness because it's rated one of the best and healthiest dog foods on the market.

After seeing so many recalls and incidents with contaminated pet foods and illness I switched my dogs to a 100% raw diet as well as holistic veterinary care and maintenance . Absolute best thing I did for them !

I do this as well. Not 100% raw because I do cook rice and steam things like broccoli for them, also cooked eggs.

My dogs have SO much more energy, are excited to eat when they used to totally ignore their food. I was able to eliminate things that they were allergic to and were causing them itches. Rawhide or marrow bone treats, plus things like veggies.

It is a lot more work, but I feel confident that they are getting the correct nutrition and I'm not worried about contamination, things they are allergic to or can't digest as easily.

Yes there is a huge difference in their overall health since the switch. One of mine had to have a full front leg amputation earlier this year so the raw switch aided in recovery and overall rehabilitation . I do raw eggs crushed complete with the shell , and I do steam veggies that grow above ground . It can be a tricky process to make sure all the nutrients are being received but once it is figured out you never go back! I was fortunate enough to attend a clinic that taught everything I could imagine about the diets over 3 days! Happy to see more people are going raw !
