If I was in a relationship, It would be worse for me to be dumped in person or over the phone than through text or email.
There are exceptions.
When the person you break up with is harmful to you, and yes it can happen to guys too.
Been there once. It's not my go to option, but when it's unsafe, it's unsafe, not necessarily cruel.
True, given my bad experience I know this much, if the person you break up with is capable of harm, it's better to text, e-mail , or even paper mail, and request not to be contacted anymore.Agreed that there are some more extreme situations (would still recommend bringing someone with as protection rather than text, but again depends on the level of extreme we're talkin'). On the whole it's better to confront them to be respectful of their feelings.
Both are better than ghosting at least, though I feel texting isn't far off from that.
