No, you can be a non-nude if you want, but its a hard way to go when starting. So keep in mind how to make your room being entertained in your personality and smile.
Watch some non-nude models to get some ideas, read about it and lurk around the website before tryiong it so you don't kill your camscore at first.
And again, its a hard way, but not impossible.
And we don't share how much money we make in this section, since members have access to it

Models make 5 cents per token.
You also will need to pay taxes on this money as you will be an independant contractor. Its normal to save around 30% for the IRS.
Some models make minimum wage or under.
Some models make 6 figures a year.
It's a 100% commission based job. Meaning you ONLY get paid when a member tips you or takes you private/group. The upside to this is - the earning potential is pretty limitless...
the downside is.. there's no hourly pay. You can log on, all pretty - and try your very hardest but if no one interested enough to tip, you dont make jack.
Specifics on financials are not things girls share in this section. You'll need to do some research on your own - or become a model, get verified and search in models only. Even then, personal finances are often a very touchy personal question.

If new to the scene, it would be highly wise to do as much research as you can. Sift through the various forum topics on ACF to get an idea of what you might come across during your camming experience, because there's a litany of nuances to camming.

Some of my favorite MFC models rarely if ever go full nude in free chat.
It is more about their sensuality, personality, and healthy doses of teasing going on in the room.
Also, A good sense of humor does not hurt ether.
I would suggest that you go and check out the rooms of Kickaz,Telsa,xSaltx. And see the different ways these ladies interact with their fans.

3. Be different! It's easy to watch other non nudes and copy the same exact thing as they do but it doesn't always work out. First you might not have the same room dynamic as her so what works for her may not work for you. Second copying someone's cam routine is just unprofessional (there is a difference if you take elements and make them your own). Last, most successful people got successful because they came up with something different. Same goes for camming. You have to think as an innovator.
