Mixed feelings. I admit I enjoyed it, but still felt that the characters were a bit on the cartoonish side. Samuel L. Jackson's character, though done really well by him, was so obviously an Uncle Ruckus clone that it was a little embarrassing.

I loved it! But I'm a QT fan so I may be biased.

Great movie !!! QT fan here, saw it yesterday evening in a Berlin cinema, that was fun, the audience had fun with the German references in it.

Yeah, I understand there is lots to say about making entertainment from a sensitive historical subject, but in Europe we where already 'victim' of QT with Inglourious Basterds of this, the stories in the newspapers then are similar with the current discussion in the USA.

I still haven't seen it. :(

Comedian Katt Williams was throwing a hissy fit about the number of times Quentin Tarantino used the 'n' word in the film. I think Katt is a hilarious comedian, but come on, dude...it IS a film about slavery. Of course there's gonna be usage of the 'n' word. If it's gonna upset you to the point where you're telling an interviewer you wanna put your fist in Quentin Tarantino's face, why would you even watch it in the first place?

I got the DVD Oscar screener from a friend of mine a couple of days ago. I watched it 2 times. I have to admit I find it has become one of my top 20 movies. Would've been top 10 if the ending wasn't so compacted.

I just saw it the other day and loved it! I was laughing at the bounty hunter's "I'll just shoot you real quick, and go on with my day" attitude. It sorta reminds me of that American Gangster scene where Denzel's character shot that dude in broad daylight (in front of several witnesses) outside the coffee shop, and didn't give a fuck.

I loved the film, and it was nice seeing the pretty boy play the villian for once.

Also my friend was counting the amount of times the n word was said.

I watched Kerry Washington on Conan (I think it was) and she said it was kind of hard to film those parts, but it was part of the movie and something that really happened in that time period, so yea, calm down Katt.

I loooooove QT as well, mostly for his gratuitous violence, and there was plenty of it!

My grandmom said there was an interview where Kerry Washington said she wanted them to whip her for real for the film.

And Katt Williams is crazy. I enjoy watching his old comedy shows, but the dude's crazy. He says he was offered a script in the movie, and his response was "Any nigga that do this deserves to die!" And the fact that he actually counted the number of times the 'n' word is used in the movie is a bit disturbing. Dude's got issues

I read something online (a blog?) where some guy insists that the 'D' in 'Django' is NOT silent...lol. Um...dude, in the movie Jamie Foxx introduces himself as 'Django' and the 'd' is always silent when he says it. The only person I hear calling it 'duh-jango-o' is Katt Williams.

My hope for the perfect ending was where the dentist/bounty hunter doesn't get killed and instead rides off into the sunset with Django and his wife, probably in that silly dentist wagon.
