burned out on webcamming

So I've had some ups and downs with camming for a while now. Most of the time the room is filled with dead silence. I've stopped trying to greet everyone as they come in. Aside from a couple of people that I enjoy talking to/who actually pay from time to time it's mostly me trying to find shit to do to occupy my brain while I sit there not making a ton of anything. Has anyone else gone through this? I'm thinking of doing clips full time instead. It's less stressful though I don't know if I'll be able to continue to support myself in this way. I make even less off of videos.

Is there any advice you guys can offer for transitioning to offline only? I fear that if I keep having days like this it's just going to get worse and slowly eat away at my soul until my brain oozes out into a mushy pile of unpaid bills and wasted time.

I use cams and streamate currently... could this be an issue? are other sites "better"?

There seems to be a bit of a slump right now on quite a few sites, it's been a pain!

Regarding focusing on clips: if you put some work into it, you can make some awesome money from it! There are several ladies on the forum who make upwards of 1k/month on Clips4sale alone.

The clips idea is great, and I was gonna recommend trying C4S anyway if you weren't already on it.

If you wanted to continue camming, you could try sites where 'paid chat only' mode is an option (meaning you're not required to sit in free video chat, like you would on MyFreeCams or Streamate)...such as Cams Nude Chat mode, ImLive paid chat mode, AdultWork private chat or group chat mode, etc. When you're broadcasting in these modes, you are no longer entertaining people for free because it's not "free chat."

You could look into joining Live Cam Model Shows (the person running the site is an independent cam girl herself), which is a free listing service for independent cam girls. Sort of like that site Cam Model Directory. You can offer cam shows (usually on Skype), phone sex, and videos. And there is no having to sit around in free chat video, wasting precious time. You hop on cam after the guy has paid for the cam show. The site states that "LiveCamModelShows.com offers an 85% payout rate on tributes, tips, texting sessions, tangible goods sales, cam shows, phone sex and video sales."

Not a ton to add, but I'm going to expand on what has been said a little.

Clip sites are where I make the majority of my income in summer months. I tend to post a little on each one every day, and that seems to get me by, though it's not anything close to non-summer incomes. Fact is most would probably make more at McD's than camming in the summer. I think the main reason I sell more clips this time of year is due to people not being able to hold any particular schedule. They're on vacation, trying to pass summer classes which are extra hard, or just unable to easily get online with the whole family home all the time.

I would like the other suggested definitely recommend Clips4Sale (60% payout). If you don't mind doing customs, I've made a lot more since promoting that. Clips4sale is really good since they already have a large amount of traffic already. They also make it easy to use twitter to draw people to your store.

Manyvids (60% payout) is another good option, and you can offer services like skype panties for sale etc. I often post a picture when I'm about to hop online there (it goes to Manyvids Twitter after posting), so that may drive a few more to your room.

Extralunchmoney (65% payout) is another one that works pretty well for me. Just like Manyvids it has options for more than just videos.

interesting stuff , google brought me here.... i've been at number one in a bunch of fetishes on c4s and had a few top 50 homepage clips, it's certainly a very powerful way of making cash if that's your goal - lacks the engagement of cam but you dont have to answer to answer , worth a look in if you're getting frustrated with it!
