Are there cam sites that are notorious for paying low wages?

It's funny, guys, but it's a fair question, I think. There are a least a couple of clip sites (not sure about streaming cam sites) that have reportedly had issues paying models in full and on time lately. I can't comment specifically as I don't sell content on any of them, so it'd just be hearsay. Maybe girls who have had a problem first-hand would like to elaborate. Those sites would be best avoided by all parties and I can definitely understand wanting to know about something like that before spending.

Apart from that kind of situation, though, cam sites don't really pay "wages", but a percentage of what the girls are tipped. If a site's payout rate was low enough that models didn't find it worthwhile to cam there, those models would (and frequently do) simply jump ship, so I don't think it's something to worry too much about. Payout percentages vary wildly from site to site, but so do traffic and other factors. The percentage alone can't tell the whole story. 30% sounds low, but if the traffic is good it could earn a model more in the end than even a full 100% somewhere else. Whichever site you find a model on, they've chosen it for a reason, and it's the one she thinks works best for her, given that there are many options.

In any case... if you want to make sure models you like are making a good income the best thing for you to do would be to tip them!

Certain sites are more scammy then others and work to the disadvantage of the models eg. throttling traffic so that they don't have to pay the higher rate to that particular model who is banking. The sites that pay variable percentage rates tend to start off at the lowest payout. There are a lot of factors to consider when choosing a site. Priority seems to be, actual sales, traffic, reliability and integrity.

MyFreeCams, Streamate and Chaturbate are the three main cam sites with the best long standing reputations, CB falling last for a few reasons but generally still reliable and fair.

For video. Clips4Sale is very fetish driven but a good company. ManyVids.com, Manyclips.com (new but I know the owners and it's top notch trust worthy) ExtraLunchMoney.com are a bit more vanilla and a good place to find your run of the mill every day sexy times.

When I was getting ready to start camming I checked out Chaturbate as well as Myfreecams. One of the main reasons I chose MFC over Chaturbate is simply because Chaturbates website looks cheap and sketchy IMO! If you're a chaturbate model I mean no offense to you, just for me Myfreecams looked better and felt better.

Yeah, even with MFC's iconic 90s green and white palm tree background, Chaturbate's constant ads and pop ups/pop unders take the cake for classless shady looking cam sites, for sure.

What about Imlive?

It's not one of the main cam site super powers, but i don't know much about it's ethical standing to comment further. It's been around a long time and that's about all I know. Other people may have better feed back.

same story as imlive. I've listed the ones I'm most familiar with that are the top trustable ones. Most other long standing cam sites like imlive and cams.com are usually less models and mostly all studios, meaning that on top of the sites cut, the model has a boss that also takes a cut... so it's pretty hard to know about ethical pay.

If you are very worried about ethical pay, it's best you probably stick to the main sites and stick to independent models. You can usually spot a studio pretty easily.

Not a model, but I'm a long time member, and ive come across very few models who complain about the percentage they get. It's another example of lower payout, and higher traffic like streamate. It must work out, going by the number of models that have been there for several years.

I'm not a model, but from all I've learned, an important thing you should dodge, if at all possible, is studios who take a percentage of your tips in addition to whatever the camsite takes.

I can agree that some studios are unethical in the cut that they take and their treatment of models, and that if the girls are camming through a studio on the major sites her full situation probably won't be anything near transparent to members.

On the other hand, some girls would not otherwise have the opportunity or resources to cam if it wasn't for studios. I'm referring here mainly to physical studios (those that only provide "advertising and support" don't deserve their cut for the most part, in my experience, and are often predatory). A girl's living space might not be suitable for a whole list of reasons (not enough room, lives with parents or roommates, can't yet afford equipment...) For those who are getting tangible benefits, I think it's fair for a studio to take a cut. After all, girls who work from their own space are paying extra rent for a cam room, premiums for faster internet, etc. that in the case of a physical studio are theoretically what's provided for her with that extra percentage she gives up.

So that's a trickier situation to suss out. Studio girls in all sorts of differing circumstances, good and bad, may not be willing to talk about it, so it's up to your own discretion. I don't feel great about suggesting for members to avoid studio models altogether. Not even to avoid all eastern European studios, though the only studio girls I've communicated with much one to one about it have been from North America. I think it's best to use a little intuition. But yeah, obviously avoid rooms where it's clear, say, that somebody else is typing for the girl or where the she's frequently falling asleep on cam. A studio is usually pretty easy to spot. A shady studio has its own set of red flags if you pay attention for a while.

I personally love Chaturbate. I think they are ahead of the game with the apps and community atmosphere. So they have ads, what's wrong with that? Chaturbate has one of the most fair placement algorithms as well so anyone can get a chance to be at the top of the food chain and although you can get there by being really generous with nudity you can also gain a high following and get to the top without taking anything off. The apps work and really help to keep guys tipping. You can run your room any way you want and have a lot of fun.

I used to work on Cams.com.

It's AWFUL. I normally did fairly good in their ranking and was still barely making any money. It's like 25% payout. And ridiculous about suspensions.

They now let you adjust your payout in 1% increments from 15%-45%. The lower your percentage, the higher you get bumped in the rankings, and if you select less than 30%, you get highlighted on the page for more attention directed at you.

You also get warnings for "sleeping on cam" if you yawn, apparently? I got a warning for that once and I was just really tired and yawning a lot, but never actually closed my eyes for longer than a yawn.
