Hi Everyone,

I'm interested in becoming a male webcam model. I was wondering if anyone has any advice for me? It's really hard to find legitimate information on the internet!!! This forum seems to be the most legitimate resource out there. I'm straight, but I do understand that as a man, I'll have to do "gay for pay", which I'm okay with.

I'm wondering if male models actually make decent money and whether it's worth my time?

What are the best sites to get traffic for male modeling? I was thinking streamate might be a good starting place.

I've tried to go into males rooms before and they always kick me out because I have questions but no monies

I talked to one male webcam model, he said he was usually making about $100 over five or six hours a day. Which is pretty decent! Other than that, I really don't know too much else about it. There's certainly a market for male models... If I can make a suggestion, I woudl say you should be interactive. A lot of the male models I"ve seen just have the cam aimed at their junk and never even chat. Most of your customers are going to be looking for a connection

@Naomi - Thank you so much. That's really encouraging that it's possible to do ~$100 in six hours. That would make it worth doing. I just want to make sure that I can do better than $10/hr. I guess, you really don't know until you try

I totally agree about being interactive. I popped into a few rooms last night to see what people do and a lot of the guys were pretty boring. I think I can do better!

Yeah I think this guy had been doing it for awhile! Don't get discouraged if you don't do that well right away. Also, keep in mind a lot of the sites you sign up on will put you at a promo price... So you may be very busy your first few hours online and then it might slow down. That's normal. And as a cam model I will warn you that you have some really slow days! But that's just the nature of the job I'd say just pick some hours you are going to be online no matter what and don't focus on the money, just focus on the fun and stick it out even if it's slow. And give it an honest try.. Like two or three weeks at least That should give you a good idea if you like it or it's worth it or not

Also, the beginning of the month is usually easier to make money than the end! hehe

I was thinking on slow days that maybe I'd just do some P90x or yoga in front of the cam. That way, I'm kind of hitting two birds with one stone. I don't know, if working out on cam would be attractive, but it would sure be better than just sitting around

However, I am trying to limber up so that I can maybe do auto-fellatio...haha! I think everybody and anybody would pay for that - maybe more as a circus freak...lol. Only about 2-3 inches to go, before I'm there. I just need to run more and do more yoga. :dance:

Certainly sounds like you're in a great mindset to be on cam. The fact that you understand what a viewer might be looking for, and that you think being an exhibitionist is exciting, no matter who the audience, means you'll enjoy yourself. its one of the sites for cam models with the most traffic ,however the pay method sucks , you get paid on the 25th of the month .
if its your first time and you would like to see where it goes perhaps you can try it out , quitting the site is pretty easy and you get all the money entitled to you

Do you ladies ever have multiple platforms open at the same time? I guess that might be against the TOS of a lot of sites; however, it would be a quick way to determine what sites have a lot of paying traffic.

Also, what time of the day is the highest traffic and biggest bang for your buck? I'd guess anything from 3 - 12 p.m. PST (I'm on pacific time )

I'm sure that weekends are big traffic all day long.

I would definitely look into webcams.com, they have guys and couples. That's where I started out. Some of the guys seem to do pretty well, and from what I have heard of LiveJasmin, it's not meant to be all that good.

Sulli, I definitely wouldn't give up your day job with your male cam model aspirations and just approach it totally as a hobby and see how it goes. I was a member of a Camz girl's website and she provided all the archives of all the site's private shows of every performer and I would just look and see if dudes there ever got shows and they definitely seemed very few and far between so it just seems much harder for a guy to model than a female. Just scout the sites you would work at well beforehand and you'll know what to expect.

I've been scoping out what my future competition is doing and most of them are so lame. When I was browsing, one guy was just sitting there playing video games. :snooty: However, there is one dude that I saw on streamate that really engages with his audience. I've only watched him a total of 5-10 minutes and I've seen people throw him "gold" and then I got kicked out, because somebody decided to take him private after talking about it. So, that guy must be making some cash? He's really the only one working for it so, he's probably drawing in all of the traffic! I'm thinking that the competition might actually be less fierce in the male categories?

I noticed the same thing with the female models! The girls who really engage with their rooms have a lot of interest. That's the secret sauce!
