Hey there!x
I'm thinking about starting camming on MFC soon but im a bit hesitant about starting considering I live in the middle east, I was wondering if anyone living in dubai has any experience with camming?

Dubai and Abu Dhabi are fascinating places. Despite being so geographically close to one another, in terms of culture, they're so different. I was reading the other day about television schedules and ratings in the Middle East and how in Dubai, they don't watch The Flinstones. But you better believe that Abu Dhabi do! I'll um... I'll see myself out.

I'm going to Dubai in the end of February.
I have heard from other camgirls who were broadcasting on mfc while their vacations in Dubai that they just used good Vpn and connection was pretty decent.

Obviously working as a camgirl in Dubai is illegal, so a VPN might sound like a way around it, you may want to consider just not camming while there.

While they can't tell 'what' you are doing while using a VPN, they can tell 'IF' you are using a VPN. Because all your data would be encrypted and they wouldn't be able to read it when they decide to check it out.

Well, that right there is enough to jail you. It's illegal to use a VPN in Dubai for any reason. They set up two national ISP's for use in all hotels, cafes and other public spots specifically for the purpose of tracking anyone trying to bypass that law. Google 'Dubai Law Number 9 VPN' if you want to read about it.

Even all social networks are monitored there. If you post anything with a picture of other people on the street that may be considered (i said considered, not proven) inflammatory, any accident, anything they deem may be damaging to their nationality, you can go to jail, and that means Twitter, Youtube, Facebook...all of them. Yes, there have been arrests already for youtube videos uploaded.

So they can arrest you if you do camming from there, and they can arrest you if you use a VPN to try to get around that law. It's really not worth it. Go, have fun, be paranoid of the hundreds of barbaric laws they have in place, try to keep your hands attached by not breaking them. And then come home, don't cam there.
Oh, and wear conservative clothing.
Do NOT hold hands or do any other form of affection in public.
Do NOT sleep in the same room as a male (even if you've lived together for 20 years, don't do it. Outside marriage in the same room you go to jail).
If you hear the call to prayer, turn off any music and shut the hell up. Distractions during that time are considered disrespectful to their religion and can land you in jail.
Do NOT be seen drunk or drinking on any public street, or you can go to jail.

Me, I think I'd rather just go to DisneyLand and pay their exorbitant fees instead. I have a much higher chance of not going to jail.

VPN itself is not illegal there. However, It can get you extra charges if you are using it for illegal purposes http://anonhq.com/dubai-police-using-vpn-can-net-extra-charges/

Who cares about the minutiae of the local law???? The girl is asking if we think it's a good idea to go swimming in a pool of gasoline and then go juggling burning torches! I have previously lived in the Middle East for a little over two years and have received more than my fair share of cultural awareness training. Everything they have said about the strictness of the laws is completely true and for your own safety the warnings should be taken to heart. It's just not worth the risk.

As far as I'm aware, Japan and Taiwan are the only two "porn safe havens" in all the Middle East and SE Asia. It's illegal everywhere else. Being illegal doesn't stop models though. I've interacted with quite a few SE Asia models, primarily out of India.

Countries like India are very laxed on enforcing their porn prohibition, however. I can't comment on how strict UAE is on their enforcement. All the previous comments lead to the conclusion that they're *WAY* more strict than SE Asia. I'd follow everyone else on this one.

In the UAE homosexuality is punishable by death.

A certain cam girl of year's past didn't take local Thailand porn laws seriously and ended up in jail after she was raided by police while she was live on cam...

Don't be like her. Don't cam in such a place.

Yeah, there was an instance like that in India too. There happen to be anyone from Ukraine on here? I'd like to hear what it's like over there. I've heard some crazy allegations about the industry, including government bribes happening over there right now. Haven't interacted with any Ukrainian models, so haven't been able to personally ask anyone from that country.

Did she ever get around to actually publishing the infamous "book of secrets" she was supposedly writing?

No. It could have all been a publicity move, and a lot of it seemed like misplaced anger and bitterness IMO, but time will tell.

Have you heard of students at conservative christian colleges being expelled for camming?

Haven't heard of that story in particular, but there's tons of stories like that. Same with girls doing porn shoots as well. Not limited to Christian colleges, either, although I imagine the Christian institutions are even less accepting than your normal college or university.

Having lived in Thailand for a couple of years they have a very bizarre relationship with sex work. The bib (boys in brown a.k.a. police) will occasionally have a "clean up" of the country usually due to a political shift. During this time Pattaya is usually the focus of their crackdown where they will round up all of the prostitutes on Beach Road and take them into the station, fine them 100 baht (3 US dollars) and turn them loose. This will be repeated nightly until the administration decides the country is clean and safe again! :playful:

If I remember correctly the model mentioned previously also had immigration issues... to be honest the main reason camming in Thailand sucks is the internet speed. They have awful international bandwidth, 20mbs upload to Thai server but < 1mbs to a US one.

Sorry for joining in on the hijack, as for the original post there is no way I would ever cam in Dubai far too much risk imo.
