She defends herself on CNN being a good mother because the house isn't filthy...

Some history...

The 2-year-old Omaha boy who unwittingly prompted a debate about the culture of gang violence was wounded three months ago in a shooting inside his own home.

His 17-year-old father, D'Marco Pope, was killed last spring in what police said appeared to be a gang-related shooting.

His grandmother was arrested last month after five guns were found in the house. She now sits in jail facing a weapons charge.

His grandfather was sent to prison last year, convicted of a weapons charge.

The little boy who was coaxed by adults to utter profanities for an online video has grown up in a chaotic and troubling home environment, according to Douglas County court records.

Authorities removed the boy from the home this week, along with his 17-year-old mother and two other children.

The children were placed in protective custody because relatives continually allowed known gang members into the house, according to court records. A caseworker said in a petition that adults did not provide a safe environment for the children.

A nonprofit child welfare agency, Nebraska Families Collaborative, became so concerned that it twice helped the family move so it could get away from gun violence.

This whole story is bullshit. If some guys trying to get a toddler to swear is the biggest problem the world has, we're in a pretty good place.

Yeah, it's all bullshit... no need for concern about the rampant gang violence or ways to break the generational cycles of dead children from errant shots and dead fathers from gang affiliation, teen pregnancies helping to create generations of welfare mothers and grandparents in jail on weapons charges. It's all bullshit.

It's one thing for a kid to hear a dirty word and start blurting it out in public. It's another thing to be coaxing a toddler into saying multiple profanities. Regardless, the profanity's just the red flag, and not the actual reason the child was taken by CPS.

Considering that little boy had been shot a few months ago in his own home, I think the child should permanently be removed from that family. Who knows, maybe that idiotic video saved the little guy's life in the long run.

What got people's attention was the video and the profanity. Children all over the planet have been living in poor conditions since forever, but try to get one say bad words and all hell breaks loose. Once the hoopla over this dies down, kids can go back to starving and getting shot and no one will care.

The most bewildering thing about the story is how the ACLU has gotten involved and made it a racial thing. I can understand why the group Black Men United would say something; nonsensical race-baiting is the job of most racial support groups. But the ACLU usually has their shit together. The ACLU says the police union used "racially charged language" to describe the video. I've gone over the police statement several times, and can't find any. Is "thug" a racial word? I don't think so. I've met plenty of thugs in my time, and it's not exclusively a black thing.

On the other hand, where was the police union when Will Ferrell made "The Landlord"?

Or how about these "thugs" reenacting it?

I gave zero shit about the "profanity" aspect, and gave all the shits about the fact that they're teaching their child to be confrontational. :| I don't really care if a kid utters a curse word - they hear them everywhere. But they're encouraging their young child to "beef" or instigate a fight.

People will continue to care about any child being raised in a gang related or unsafe house. The world is a lot more compassionate than that. Unfortunately, these sorts of housing aren't always brought to the entire world's attention via viral video, but there are organizations dedicated to rescuing these children, so clearly lot's of people care.
