A body found Friday in a shallow grave near a mall in Akron, Ohio, may be that of a missing man who answered an ad on the website, the FBI said.

Another body of a white male without identification was found in a second shallow grave about 90 miles away later in the day.

The FBI is working on the supposition that the body found near the Rolling Acres shopping mall in Akron may be that of 47-year-old Timothy Kern, who hasn't been seen in more than a week, agency spokeswoman Vicki Anderson said.

"Do we think it might be? Maybe," Ms Anderson said. "He's missing. We haven't been able to find him. It could possibly be, but we just don't know that yet."

Ms Anderson declined to specify how authorities discovered the body.

I read books about this kind of stuff. In real life I find it stupid that someone is that messed up that they pull shit like this. I think all serial killers/rapists/whatever need to have the same torture they inflict on their victims, given to them tenfold. Oh, you want to slit my wrists and watch me bleed out? Well how about I slit your ball sack and watch you bleed out after I've cut off your dick and forced you to eat it. Sounds like a good plan to me.

On street corners like it was in the good ol' days!

Nothing like a good dose of nostalgia for the holidays.

But, but THAT'S Cruel and unusual punishment, Yeah I agree, with you but that's how a lawyer would put it in the courts. If they brought back the old ways of handling the criminals, they may just rethink what they were planning on doing to their victims. Public floggings, guillotine, drawing and quartering went out with the old ways. Where else can you get three hot meals, a relatively warm place to sleep guaranteed to you by your rights.... let's not forget some of the places have a better health plan than the general populace and they can also have their education taken care of...all part of reforming the mind of the common criminal. :twocents-02cents: There may be a few issues with the wrong person getting accused of a crime, but I don't think that it would be the problem that there is now if those "CRUEL AND UNUSUAL" punishments were still in place.

*kicks dirt* I know. The backwards part of me likes that idea of punishment. The whole reap what you sow, do unto others. The prison system is flawed even though it has good intent. I can dream though....

If you get a chance watch a very highly critically-acclaimed film from Argentina "El secreto de sus ojos" (The Secret in Their Eyes), it's all about concepts of justice and the debate of whether seeing justice served is worth the cost of administering it. It's also a really really bloody good film, with some haunting scenes.

Because that's what the debate about the cost of prisons is about - one side claims money is paramount and we should save money and effort, while the other side of the argument is that justice is WORTH paying for. I personally believe in the second. It's not written anywhere that it's a rule that we're not allowed to spend money incarcerating people.

Hmm, is it the kind of movie to give you nightmares? (The good kind that inspire change, not the bad kind that just leave you traumatized.) I might have to go check it out. I've known some people in and out of the prison system over my lifetime and that's just it; they're in and out of the prison system constantly because it's a cycle. Justice is worth paying for if we want to live in a safer place that's "fair" to everyone.

We should find a big island filled with the deadliest animals in the world and ship all the criminals there. Oh... Sorry.

Lol looks like I opened a can of worms. I just think that if someone is going to torture and maim another person for fun, then they need to know what it feels like too.

I dunno, it didn't give me nightmares, it did stick in my mind though I saw it like a year ago and still think about it

I'll have to have my roommate preview it then because I get nightmares easily. I still have nightmares about the Human Centipede and the Girl Next Door even though I saw those several years ago. Him or my parents "control" what movies I watch because I get freaked out too easily. I'll make him watch it though so he can recap it to me at least.

I didn't even know what Craigslist was until told about it recently. I can't fathom why people would use such a site, given the risks that come with it. That and I find the whole notion of looking for sex in that way incredibly weird.

My issue with all of this is craigslist is just a tool, it's like saying someone gets killed by a hammer so we should stop using hammers or someone is killed in a car accident so we should stop using cars. I know a lot of people who use craigslist and I do also and none of us have ever had any major problems. It's just like anything else you have to be careful when ever you meet someone new be it online, at a bar, or someone you met at a grocery store.
