sO i am chatting to this model who says she is from the UK, her profile says uk too. but when it's dark i can see her lighting is daylight. And i wonder, could she be using VPN? Doesn't Aw detect when the model is using a VPN? Thanks.

adultwork can detect vpn's and will ban models for using them. Chances are she is using professional lights and that's making it look lighter than it actually is[/QUOT Hl

How do you know that?

As someone who cams at ridiculous hours, I can vouch for lighting - unless you're seeing her outside, you can't be sure she isn't just using a very good lighting set-up. I personally like to have at least three different lights directed at me, so I've often had comments on how it looks like an entirely different timezone even though I'm just in EST.

Just wondering why a VPN would be banned. Why should a model be deprived of being more anonymous?

because it spoofs your location and in some nations camming is illegal. They may be concerned that a model may be hiding the fact that she working from a nation where pornography is banned.

Some sites have rules on what country a model can be in to work for them. Using a VPN is a common way to try to break those rules so most sites ban them outright.

It may take SM a bit to catch people who do but they will and ban them and every account with that IP usually. They arent allowed there either. Its also cause members will use VPNs to skit bans by sites as well so it's to protect the site and models also.

why dont they say VPNs are not allowed in their terms of service?

I dont know every sites TOS so I dont know who does or doesnt and I dont work for any site so I cant say why they wouldnt.

That upsets me. 99% of VPN users are just concerned about their privacy and mean no harm.

And the other 1% are hanging out at the coffee shop.
only joking with you a bit Guy. nothing personal intended.

damn, i use a VPN by default because of my gaming (i show as within my own country, it's to avoid the weirdos from my past and to confuse server trolls who are report happy). I share it with a couple other steam group friends and i've never thought it might be an issue, i've never had a camming issue from it. This is kind of making me rethink that.

How long have you been using it?

since last year, well before my camming. perhaps i've avoided trouble by using local regional changes instead of international?

Sites that ban VPNs have a database of all of the IP addresses of VPN services. If a site does not allow

lovesheidi I have private messaged you

Honestly it sound like people have abused VPNs, and was a result the VPNs used are banned. And if it's not directly in the TOS, it probable falls under circumventing security measures.

VPN Services are not abused much these days. They have strict policies against using their software for hacking and getting away with harassing people online. https://www.hidemyass.com/legal/vpn-terms http://www.thewire.com/technology/2...osed-service-he-thought-would-hide-him/42895/

They may have those policies. but I bought they're enforced. They're probable quite un-aware when some one is miss-using their services. They're not in a position to even detect when a user is banned from MFC. Or able to report their location accurately to MFC.

whenever a user of a VPN turns on their software they log the users real ip address, the VPN ip address that they use, and their connection times. And from what I understand cam sites have databases of VPN ip addresses. If a cam site reported to a VPN service the abuse, The service would revoke that users account and ban that user from using their VPN software ever again. Trust me. I am an expert on VPNs. I myself will be signing up for a new VPN service as soon as I get a new Mac. ;)

SOME do all what you just mentioned. Those are the really bad VPN's. The good ones keep no records of any kind. So they have no idea what you do. No records of your ip address and many even pool your computer in with other users so they wouldn't even know which of all of those users did what. That way if they ever got a court order to turn over records there are no records to turn over.

Good VPN list.

Notice Mullvad collects nothing. You can pay with anonymous methods. So they don't even know who you are. PrivateInternetAccess you can pay with gift cards. No credit cards needed or even Bitcoin. You can walk into a Subway with cash and get a gift card to buy their VPN service.
