Who feels like you really know what you're doing in this endeavor? This is my first foray into the arena of fantasy sports, and I'm really pretty much clueless. After watching Monday night and cursing at a Houston running back when he didn't get me the point I needed for a tie (just 3 more yards!), I've decided to dial it back a bit. Seriously, I wasn't really all that stressed, and I do confess it makes it a bit more interesting to have a dog in the fight -- kind of like having a $2 bet at the track. But from week 2 on, it's all fun and games for me. A trade here or there if it feels right, drop a dude and add another if the mood strikes me, but mostly just let the points add or subtract as they may. First place or last place, win or lose, it's just about the fun. I've seen guys at the office get wrapped up in this stuff and always felt a bit sorry for them. I got a wee taste of that last weekend (extremely wee!), but I'm not going there. So hope I beat you, but I really don't care!

This is the reason I put no prizes or anything of value involved in this league. It's just for a bit of fun competition between Internet friends. ;)

I beg to differ. You are our prize win or lose. I thank you for setting up this league. Now if we could only get some Cutie trash talkin' going on that would be a bonus.

I don't really have a clue what i'm doing. Just been having fun trying out different theories.
Truth be told I don't think I've watched a dozen football games in my entire life. But it's been interesting learning some of the strategies and talking with the other players. Been one i've been chatting with a lot.
I'm not gonna get upset about losing in the least. But if I do I might talks some smack about it cause I think that's what we're supposed to do.

My theory for this week was to drop the players that sucked and I added several from the free agents who scored higher points last week. Unfortunately ESPN thinks their projected points are lower so it estimates I'm going to do worse against SexySteph this week. We'll see. Their projections last week kind of sucked ass on a lot of teams so I'm not relying too heavily on that number anymore.

I am not feeling very good about my "high school" players doing a good job against the Albino Pygmies this week. Good luck Albino Pygmies!!

Don't worry about the ESPN projections. They thought I would lose by 10+ points at one time last week and I ended up winning by 20.

Given how poopy the Patriot's Wide Receivers were last night, it was far too early to get cocky. I retract my cockiness :)

Your Pending Moves (1)
» Pending Trades (1)
Accepted Send Maurice Jones-Drew, Jac RB from RB to NC
Send Brandon Gibson, Mia WR from Bench to NC
Receive Dallas Clark, Bal TE from NC to Bench
Receive Brandon Bolden*, NE RB from NC to Bench
Proposed by NoWhere Canadiens (Mike Thraximundar), Sep 10, 3:15 PM (ET)

Trade will process at approximately Sep 13, 1:14 AM (ET) once all involved players unlock

This trade was proposed and accepted early this week and has been in pending status since. Looks to me like all players are unlocked and on the trading block. Any thought on why the transaction hasn't gone through? Anyone vote to veto it?

Watching the ACF FF live scoreboard/box score updates are almost as interesting as watching the game itself  It would be nice if ESPN had a gamecast for FF ;)

Dammit Bob!

Stop beating me! :p

I'm only 7 points ahead and you still have Vernon Davis to play yet! You're not out of this yet --- wait, that was awful smack talk. Clearly what I meant to say was "yeeeeaaaaaahhhhh, my chosen and alotted players are responsible for a combined score that is numerically superior to that of your chosen and alotted players and even though that could change I sincerely hope it doesn't. Yeah! Face! Consider yourself served, yo "

I am getting killed by the Krushers defense! I mean c'mon! The defense scores the touchdown? Is this really what just happened? Gaaaa!

Edit: Dear Brees...
Leave Jimmy alone! Throw to Sproles! Gaaaa!

Saints game was gnarly! I was soooo happy that Jimmy didn't score that last touchdown, and I squeaked out an extra point with Sproles on the end there. Grrrr. Pinche Jimmy Graham with 23 mother humping points...yet I am only 11 points behind the Krushers. So now it is all about Boldin, (who just happens to be a Raven in a former life and the Ravens are my favorite team...) Make it or break it time bb's!

Edit!!! 93-76 Krangos Krushers are kicking my butt as of now.

I seriously thought about signing up for this when it was offered, but I have definitely enjoyed reading this thread.

I played fantasy football years ago, but since I have a rooting interest in a particular team I found fantasy difficult to balance. How could I root for particular players on my team's main rivals to do well when I wanted their team to do badly. It was too much of a conflict.

You all seem to be doing it right way........for fun.

So keep posting away and good luck to all.

Gaaaa! ANOTHER GAME SUSPENDED! C'mon boys, its only a lil' bit of lightning...
Did You Know: Lightning Kills Football Team
DID YOU KNOW? — BY GORAN ON 2011/09/30

Did you know that, back in 1998, all eleven members of a football team were killed by a bolt of lightning while all of the players on the opposing escaped unharmed?
The two sides were drawing 1-1 in the match in eastern Kasai Province (Democratic Republic of Congo) when the lightning struck the home team from the village of Bena Tshadi.
Strange incident lead the locals to suspect that some sort of witchcraft or wizardry was called upon during the game.
However, it was later said that one team had steel cleats and the others had plastic cleats.

That's why you trade with players to get all the players you want. We have one guy who's going for an all Bears team. :-D
