    wow, thank you for such a detailed response! ok so i think i get it now, i can just straight up opt out of an image or gif preview at all, and it'll just give viewers the option to click play on the preview video, right? man, I wish c4s could just convert my preview clip into a gif for me...

    another question- is there a way to customize your gif on c4s without making one externally and uploading it? in other words, will it always just generate a random gif when you choose for it to make you a gif?

    How necessary is an external webcam to start out?

    using a laptop's built-in webcam is fine with good lighting in my opinion, and honestly if you want to you can lean into the whole amateur/ girl next door "aesthetic" of slightly lower quality. but overall you're really fine. as long as your internet's good enough to stream well.
