If Section 230 is removed and sites are legally held responsible for the content creators post, how do you think that will affect cam sites?

I think if section 230 is repealed the internet as we know it will become something completely unrecognizable from what it currently is. That is unless most sites run AI programs to detect and auto-ban/delete anything that can be seen as illegal (threats/slander/hate speech/prostitution etc). Either that or most internet based companies/sites will move their servers out of the US so they don’t have to comply or can evade inevitable civil suits from people trying to make a buck.

I don’t know about cam sites, but I think legit clip sites will remain mostly the same. Aside from MV, every clip site I post on has a review process for every video you post. The online adult industry is already pretty strict, there’s so many rules we have to comply with, so I don’t see too much of a change.

I could see most camsites adopting the rule like on Stripchat where you can’t be mean and can get banned from being “rude” to members.

Consumer, not producer, but when I heard this possibility unfolding, I thought it would likely have a bigger impact on live shows, and less so on uploaded content because of the rigor in reviewing it (as mentioned above).
If US-based cam sites didn't shift their operations elsewhere, we'd probably see a big increase in AI monitoring of visuals, audio and chat, which would surely result in more suspensions and bans, and greater delays seeking human review of those decisions.

damn it's becoming like that book I read... 1984.
Well, Ok that might be a slight exaggeration, but it's still concerning the direction things are moving.

If live cam sites get super restrictive Indie camming will become a much bigger thing. People aren't going to give camming up. I wonder what will take over as the main one from Skype? Skype's closing May for those of you who didn't already know, which will be hardly anyone here, at this point. Discord? I feel like with all these changes might be good planning to start considering these things. Not that I relish doing under-the-table shows, I want my full income taxable, provable etc 💩

Indie would be more secure, I guess. It would super suck though.

Does anyone know what people are mainly going with for indie, now that Skype's closing? I was hoping to still offer offsite (for tokens only) on MFC, but I have no idea what's popular for indie these days. Lol no one tell me sky-private (that's not what I mean). I mean full Indie, not these sites that skim off the top. I tried a few of those sites before, that basically want you to bring all your fans over, so they can skim. I wasn't impressed at all. I'd rather just do full Indie, than that stuff.

Most indie models are switching to Discord and Telegram.
