Hello. Please allow me to introduce myself. I'm Moros1138. I provide various multimedia services. I do web design, graphics, and video editing. I have a passion for coding and scripting and I think it shows in the results of my work.
I was born in a small, relatively unimportant city in central Wisconsin. I grew up with an older brother and a younger sister. When I was 5 my father took a job doing advertisements for a circus. So we travelled across the United States 2 weeks ahead of the circus to advertise in the towns the circus would be coming to. I feel truly blessed by this as I was able to see and experience things that many rarely get the chance. I have seen sights from the west coast to the east and everywhere in between and I even remember a few of them.
When I was 9 we finally settled back down in central Wisconsin where I started to attend public school. I was a terrible student much to my teachers' dismay. All the time spent home schooled while we were on the road spoiled me with time schedules that were my own, all that was required of me was to finish my assignments. So I would take a week's worth of assignments and blast through them and spend the rest of the time doing various other kid-like things. I remember spending a great deal of time pretending to be a news announcer and making a commentary on things that were going on around me. This would often get me in trouble when my father was having problems with our van or the trailer. Anyways, my teachers were confounded by the fact that I would only do the assignments for topics I didn't understand and then take the tests and pass with flying colors. The grade school passed me on that merit alone. High school was not as forgiving. I dropped out and took a test to get my High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED) which I passed with high marks. From then on I worked for one company or another for the next few years... Factories. Warehouses. Stores. Customer Service call centers. I even worked with a guy who picked up scrap metal from people's garbage every Thursday. You'd be surprised how much money a garbage picker can make in one day.
I was 28 when I started having problems with my legs swelling up. 2 hospital visits, and a year worth of wound care later, my doctor told me I could only be standing or sitting for 3 hours in a day. I challenge anybody to find a job that pays a 28 year old man to stay in his bed... No really, tell me. I want to know. Disability sucks! From the comfort of my own room I have developed a passion for computer programming, graphics, and design. I have taught myself HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, MySQL, and a half dozen other scripting languages. I consider myself an expert in the usage of Windows and Linux, particularly Debian. My friends started calling me "The Geek". I wear the name proudly. Aside from computers I'm a huge fan of Star Trek, Star Wars, and Doctor Who. I also enjoy playing Dungeons and Dragons and enjoy watching shows on Geek & Sundry's twitch channel. #TeamHooman #critter #hype!! So yea.. "The Geek" fits me to a "T".
