Links breaking with "preview" or "edit".

This has been fixed!
Not sure what the deal is, or how long it will be until we can/will fix it but I figured I'd let you guys know.

If you insert a link into your post and hit "preview" it will make the link not work in your post. If you edit your post once it's up, it will also break the link.

I wish I could say that we'll take care of it soon, but honestly there's too much going on IRL right now and Jawbs is the fix-it man. Just hang tight and make due for the time being, however long that is.

This means click the URL tag button above your post and insert your url between the brackets. It will prevent it from auto-shortening.

There's a temporary fix for this. If you use the URL thing, you'll be safe.

Since it only happens with really long URLs, I'mma use a url that doesn't actually exist. The line breaks aren't there in the actual link, just in the code example so that it doesn't needlessly stretch your browser.

You can edit it a lot without issues, or preview.

At least, I think it fixes it. I'm testing it now with an edit.

Does this problem persist? I inserted a link (without Alex's trick), hit preview and it worked fine.

And pasting the link without using the URL tag, it is converted to a normal link. No problem. http://www.google.com

Edit: This link was posted after editing... http://www.yahoo.com (so people don't say I'm just advertising Google

I think it only happens with long url's because they're shortened so that they don't stretch the borders. Then when they're edited, the shortened version remains short and broken.

Then it has no need to shorten the long URL since it's not seen and won't stretch the borders. That's why it gets around the but

Ahh... I see the problem now. Indeed, the preview looks ok, but the URL in the text field is broken.

Seems it is a bug on phpbb. I'm not sure, but to fix it might be needed to install mod.

Ok I am a little lost...lol. Is this how we hyperlink? Like post an image on our profile, such as our wishlist so that when they click on it, it takes people straight to that?
